What it feels like to have a migraine

4:10

I’m Afraid I Can’t Help 1 in 7 people suffer from migraines, an incurable neurological condition affecting over 1 billion people worldwide. Through sound design, creative camera work and narration, the viewer is taken through the experience of a migraine. Made by Directing and Producing Science and Natural History students at the National Film and Television School. Director Jason Elliot Cast Mia Rhodes This film was created for the module ‘Creating the Impossible ‘, where students are tasked with producing a short film about an intangible idea – making a film about something which cannot be filmed. The module aims to challenge students to stretch their imaginations and think about the visual image in a different way, exploring the elements of graphics, animation, VFX, model making and games, and taking a deeper dive into sound design and use of music. It combines the conventional film making techniques which students have learned with more conceptual and experimental ways of creating visually compelling materials to represent and/or explain the intangible.
